Coastal Direct MD is not insurance. It is a Direct Patient Care (DPC) practice. DPC is an innovative model of healthcare that places the focus back on the doctor-patient relationship. This is accomplished by removing the barriers and bureaucratic red tape of an insurance based practice. We offer simple, affordable, transparent and efficient care for adults and children. We provide a full range of Primary care/Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, Regenerative Medicine services for a low monthly membership fee paid directly to the practice.

By providing superb care with unprecedented access, we seek to prevent or reduce hospitalizations and specialty referrals. In instances where those types of care are required and we are unable to take care of your healthcare needs in-house, we will refer you to the best specialists in the area. We know which doctors are the finest experts in each field and we have the freedom to send you wherever we believe you will receive the best care for your given medical condition. We will also provide e-consults with specialists through Rubicon MD (in the future) at no additional charge to members.

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an innovative healthcare model which prioritizes the relationship between doctors and patients. DPC eliminates the unnecessary red tape of insurance companies and offers an affordable, accessible membership-based primary care model that provides all the essentials of routine healthcare for a flat monthly fee. This simple model provides many of the things that are important but unheard of in today’s healthcare environment: price transparency, same day or next day appointments, personalized care, no copays or deductibles at time of visit, a relationship with your doctor free from outside interference, after-hours care on nights and weekends for urgent matters

Dr. Weaver is available for an in person or phone visit to answer questions and provide information about Coastal Direct MD obligation-free. This is a good way to start a conversation about your healthcare and begin what we trust will be a long, productive and healthy relationship.

The monthly membership covers unrestricted, transparent, open access to Dr. Weaver. We are just a call, text, email, or same day office visit away. There is no one between you and your doctor.

Well, thats the goal, so nice work! We aim to keep you healthy and prevent illness. Sometimes, however, you need stitches, an antibiotic, or have a quick question to run by a doctor. An urgent care visit for those stitches or antibiotic will cost you about what our annual membership costs. And if you have a question for a doctor? Good luck getting an answer any time soon the normal way. As a member, just call/text/email us. Yes, it's that easy and convenient.

Direct Primary Care is not insurance. Although you may be able to get all or most of your healthcare needs met by your DPC physician, health insurance or a health sharing plan is still recommended in case of specialist care or unexpected medical expenses, such as hospitalization or major surgery.High-deductible “catastrophic” insurance plans pair well with DPC and may result in significant cost savings. You may also want to consider alternatives to traditional insurance plans, such as healthcare sharing plans.

As your Family Medicine physician we are able see all ages and consider it a privilege to take care of your family.

Absolutely! However, because third party payers such as Medicare and other insurance companies have adverse impacts on the physician patient relationship, Dr. Weaver is no longer contracted with Medicare, and Medicare does not cover the cost of membership at Coastal Direct MD. Medicare and your supplement can be used for any services, labs and imaging performed outside of our clinic.

Yes! In fact, we encourage it when necessary. Injuries and illnesses do not always occur during normal business hours, and so you are welcome to call your physician any time of day or night on any day of the week.

The great thing about the freedom we enjoy from the direct relationship between you and your physician at Coastal Direct MD is that we can care for you from almost anywhere at almost anytime. Most illnesses can be managed over the phone, by text, by email, or by webcam, and we’re always happy to take care of our traveling members.

We maintain scrupulous standards of privacy. We are never obligated to provide any third party with a copy of your records unless you specifically ask that we do so
